On this episode I chat with Rob about his life and journey and Nootropics.
In 1995 a young boy was reading a book given to him by his father called Mega Brain Power, by Michael Hutchison.
This was the book which started his journey into the wonderful world of nootropics. Mega Brain Power was far ahead of its time. It introduced the idea of nootropics a good 20 years before they become a mainstream subject. In fact, that's where he came across the term "nootropic" for the very first time.
All the while he devoured any book he could find on the topic of self-help, and read many of the classics.
This early interest in the mind and in self-improvement, together with his love of biochemistry in school, as well as his interest in health and nutrition from his mom's side, led him to go on to complete a BSc in Biochemistry at the University of Pretoria.
It was whilst he was at university that he started developing his first supplement, a multivitamin.
From University he entered into the field of personal development. He learned a lot along the way about human behavior, the mind, the flaws of the mind, counseling and critical thinking.
He then moved into consulting as a healthcare practitioner, where he learned much about what people desire from supplements.
From the wealth of customer feedback he could see for himself which supplements worked, what didn't work, and what was needed but was not yet available.
All during this time he was developing many different supplements. Whilst each supplement he developed seemed to be very different from the other, the making of each was teaching him all the valuable things he needed to know in order to finalize his ultimate creation, The Nootropic Multi.
Inspired by a mix of intuition, knowledge, personal experience, a genuine intention to bring about healing; and perhaps a touch of divine intervention, he created something extraordinary.
This was the alchemical process, the transmutation of the intangible, the spiritual, into the physical.

On this episode I had the privilege of chatting to Brett about his career in the corporate world and about his Investment company Campan. We also chatted about one of the businesses he's involved in called Brandhubb.
Brett Dawson is best known for his 12-year stint as head of the global IT services giant, Dimension Data. By the time he left the firm, in June 2016, he had quadrupled its annual revenue from $2 billion to $8 billion, expanded its footprint from 30 countries to 58, and grown its local and international employee complement from 8000 to more than 30000.
Two years after handing over the reins Brett is now embarking on the next stage of his journey, starting a personal investment platform called CAMPAN. His enviable track record in the technology industry is largely led by his vision in harnessing the transformative power of new technologies and it is therefore no coincidence that CAMPAN will focus on investing and mentoring scalable startups that that are determined to revolutionise existing business models through the positive application of technology. CAMPAN will focus on driving the trend referred to as the Fourth Industrial Revolution(4IR).

On this episode I speak to Mic about the Singularity U event and what we have to look forward to going into the future.
Mic Mann believes that the future will be abundant as the power and potential of exponential technologies increases and their price gradually drops to zero, ultimately democratising numerous industries and improving the lives of all.
As co-founder of Mann Made, an award-winning experiential brand agency that has worked with top global and local Fortune 500 companies. Mic has 19 years of experience in the media, marketing and eventing industry. Mic is a prolific speaker and strategist on exponential technologies, the future of work and the changing role of professionals.
After completing the Singularity University Executive Programme in 2015, he realised that in order to #futureproofAfrica we need to embrace exponential technologies.
He and his partners subsequently brought the SingularityU Summit – the first of its kind on the continent – to South Africa. Mic’s passions are entrepreneurship and break-through technologies. He is also involved in the local start-up and maker community.

Episode 134 | Travis Gale | Entrepreneur, Cyclist, Author, Speaker
Monday Oct 26, 2020
Monday Oct 26, 2020
On this episode I chat with Travis about his journey, and his book The Middle how to keep going in pursuit of your goals.
On 1 January 1999, Travis Gale (aged 17) and Stephen Bonaconsa (aged 27) left Johannesburg on a mission to cycle across four continents and raise R1 million for children living with, and affected by HIV/AIDS in KwaZulu-Natal. They pedalled out of Johannesburg, riding mountain bikes equipped with panniers, carrying the basic requirements for an adventure. They rode unsupported. No Instagram or Facebook. It was just the two of them and the open road. The pair successfully cycled over 16 000 kilometres, across four continents, through 16 countries, raising R1.7 million for their cause.
When asked to share about his experience, Travis very rarely spends time talking about the start or the finish of the tour. The stories Travis shares are from The Middle. It’s The Middle that tests us with challenges, yielding a multitude of emotions. It’s The Middle that involves the raw and often painful need to dig deep, to push through the barriers that stand in our way, and show ourselves what we are capable of. The Middle is what we, as human beings, were designed for.

Episode 133 | Norma Young | Journalist, Author, Business Woman
Tuesday Sep 22, 2020
Tuesday Sep 22, 2020
On this episode I chat with Norma about her book We need More Tables - Navigating Privilege In the Face Of Poverty.
This is an incredible book and in my opinion a must read.
Digital media has opened up the options available for communication, and over the past few years, Norma has particularly enjoyed multimedia content creation and production. From podcasts to bespoke video channels to social media stories, she’s found it to be an exciting time to be in the field of communicating and connecting.
Most recently, Norma headed up the digital department for Ndalo Media, a South African publishing company that focused on business news, career and entrepreneurial content. One of her career highlights was interviewing former public protector and TIME 100 honoree, Thuli Madonsela. This was for the October 2016 cover of Destiny magazine. Unfortunately, Ndalo Media became insolvent and is currently under liquidation.
Consequently, since February 2019, Norma has been freelancing as a Writer and Editor.
